reauth and retry config difference in dot1x profile

by on ‎07-04-2014 03:12 AM

max-requests : Number of times a packet in the eap transaction is retried
reauth-max : After giving up on a reply after trying max-requests times, we start with eap-id-req again reauth-max times before stm sends death.
So if the client stays silent right from the beginning, eap-id-request itself will timeout (without proceeding to eap-req), will be retried max-requests times and then this whole process is repeated reauth-max times. Basically you will see [(max-request) x (reauth-max + 1)]eap-id-request and based on what is needed, both might have to be tweaked.
