xSec license in the Aruba Controllers

Q:

Does Aruba 6.1 and above support xSec license?

A:

xSec is an older Layer 2 encryption technology that was built at a time when 802.11i was not FIPS-compliant. It has been used in customer deployments running ArubaOS 5.x and below and on legacy controller platforms, e.g. 6xx and 3xxx.

This license is not supported on 7xxx Mobility Controller platforms and also xSec encryption is not supported in 7xxx series controllers.

xSec license is being replaced with ACR license introduced with AOS 6.1. ACR delivers Suite B capabilities to Aruba Mobility Controllers. xSec support is included as a component of ACR license. By purchasing the ACR license, customers get both xSec and Suite B.
