How do I configure Captive Portal with MAC authentication on an SSID in Aruba Instant?

Product and Software: This article applies to Aruba Instant 3.2

 

Points to remember:

Clients should pass either MAC-auth or captive portal.

Clients that pass MAC-auth will get MAC-auth-only role.

Clients that fail MAC-auth will be required to do captive portal auth.


Step 1: Click New to create and SSID

Step 2: Select Guest to create Guest Network.

Step 3: Select IP Assignment

Step 4: Choose captive portal, and enable mac authentication.

Step 5: Enable mac-auth-only role, if client pass mac authentication, it will get this role. If this option is disabled, client will get role derivation.

Step 6: You can see the SSID Broadcasting.
