Controller-less WLANs

How is the image on the Aruba Instant AP managed?

Aruba Employee

Product and Software: This article applies to all Aruba Instant platforms and versions.

With Aruba Instant, the flash has been divided into two partitions: Partition 0 and Partition 1

When an IAP is terminated to a controller, Partition 0 is updated to the version that is running on the controller, but Partition 1 retains the IAP code.

When the reset button is pressed, the code on Partition 0 is cleared and the IAP boots using Partition 1 (with the IAP code). The IAP uses the original configuration when it is reverted back from operating as a campus AP.
