How to check if the IAP is provisioned with a static or DHCP IP address from CLI?

Mar 29, 2017 02:54 PM

Q:

How to check if the IAP is provisioned with a static or DHCP IP address from CLI?

When can we find the IP configuration information of the IAP in the "show ap-env" output?

A:

The "show ap-env" command displays all provisioned parameters to the IAP. Starting Aruba Instant 6.4.3.1-4.2, the output of this command was modified to include fields such as IP address, netmask, gateway IP address, DNS IP address, AP radio modes, and uplink VLAN configuration.

The "show ap-env" displays the IP address information of the IAP only when the IAP is assigned with a static IP address.

Rajaguru-IAP-205H# show ap-env

Antenna Type:Internal
name:Rajaguru-IAP-205H
ipaddr:10.17.170.16
netmask:255.255.255.224
gatewayip:10.17.170.2
dnsip:8.8.8.8
domainname:RajaguruLab.local

We cannot see the IP address information if the IAP is assigned with a DHCP IP address.

Rajaguru-IAP-225# show ap-env

Antenna Type:Internal
name:Rajaguru-IAP-225
