How to configure Server role derivation for IAP wired clients?

Prior to IAP OS version 6.2.1.0-3.3.0.0, there was no support for server role derivation on wired clients on the IAPs.  However, from Instant version 6.2.1.0-3.3.0.0, we support “radius attribute” role derivation for wired clients.

However, as of 6.2.1.0-3.3.0.0, we still do not support following attributes on wired clients on IAP –

DHCP-options
Dot1x-authentication-type
Mac-address

This article applies to all the IAPs running a minimum OS version of 6.2.1.0-3.3.0.0.

Environment : All the sample outputs in this article are tested on IAP 105 running 6.2.1.0-3.3.0.0.

  1. Create a wired client profile by navigating to “More” on top right and select “wired”.
  2. Select “Employee” or “Guest” for primary usage
  3. Set the VLAN information
  4. Select the authentication method and server
  5. Go to “access” and set the access rules to “Role-based”.
  6. Click on "Finish".
