A:

How to disable VHT functionality on 11ac supported IAPs?

Prior to 4.2.1, for the VHT function on 11ac platforms, it was enabled by default and also had no interface to be disabled.

In some scenarios, it was necessary to disable the VHT so that 11ac APs can act as 11n APs. Hence from 4.2.1 code, we provide CLI and UI interfaces to disable/enable VHT if needed.

This function only takes effect on 5G of 11ac IAPs and can be configured both on wlan-ssid-profile and rf-dot11a-profile.

If configured on wlan-ssid-profile, it only takes effect on the certain SSID; If configured on rf-dot11a-profile, it can take effect on all SSID.

CLI commands:

•Disable VHT on wlan-ssid-profile

IAP (config) # wlan ssid-profile test

IAP (SSID Profile "test") # very-high-throughput-disable

•Enable VHT on wlan-ssid-profile

IAP (SSID Profile "test") # no very-high-throughput-disable

•Disable VHT on rf-dot11a-profile

IAP (config) # rf dot11a-radio-profile

IAP (RF dot11a Radio Profile) # very-high-throughput-disable

•Enable VHT on rf-dot11a-profile

IAP (RF dot11a Radio Profile) # no very-high-throughput-disable
