Controller-less WLANs

How to do firmware upgrades through Central? What is the difference between "automatic" and "manual" firmware upgrades?
Environment This article applies to Aruba Instant 6.2.1.0-3.3.0.0 or higher versions and managed by Aruba Central.

Aruba Central can initiate a firmware upgrade of virtual controller and its member IAPs. Users can perform an instant upgrade or schedule it to a later date and time. The upgrade can also be manual or automatic; which means you can manually select the firmware version or you can leave it to Central for selecting the latest version.

NOTE: Firmware upgrades are not specific to a group. It is specific to a virtual controller.

Follow these steps to view the latest firmware and the list of active virtual controllers (
irrespective of their groups) and to upgrade the firmware, follow these steps:

1. Click
All Groups and then navigate to Maintenance -> Firmware.

NOTE: Latest firmware shown in Aruba Central may vary from the one shown in Aruba Support website.
