How to view the RSSI of the client in Aruba Instant AP?



A:

RSSI is the actual signal strength seen by the AP for the client. 

RSSI can be derived by 'Noise Floor - SNR'. Example calculation as below:

  • SNR = 35
  • Noise Floor = 95
  • RSSI = 95 - 35  => 60

 

In Aruba Instant AP's below commands will help in showing the RSSI and SNR of the client along with the Noise Floor for that particular channel:

Few other commands to check the Noise Floor and SNR:

  • # show ap arm rf-summary => to check NF

  • # show ap debug client-table => to check SNR
