It's now even easier to manage IAP deployments with AirWave!

With the release of AirWave 7.7.5 (now on the Aruba Networks support site - http://support.arubanetworks.com/DOWNLOADSOFTWARE/tabid/75/DMXModule/510/Default.aspx?EntryId=12177 ) , its now possible to leverage AirWave to configure the IAP GUI as an alternative to using templates as part of the group configuration. The premise is the same, however you'll now notice that you cycle thru the familiar IAP GUI screens versus importing an initial template to the AirWave group which pushes the config to all subsequent IAP's in the group.

To do this, you need to enable this feature functionality in AirWave from the following screen:

    IGC_enable.png

Then you cycle through the common screens like you would on an individual cluster config. The benefit of this is that you are able to leverage the same zero touch capability of Aruba's Activate provisioning portal in conjunction with Airwave - but now with the common look and feel of the IAP GUI.

First click "NEW" from the IAP CONFIG screen:

    general.png

    then onto VLANS:

    vlans.png

    then onto Security:

    security.png

    ....and finally onto Access:

    access.png

    And we're done!

    done.png

Note that you can edit any of the configuration parameters once created much like you can in the IAP GUI so if you want to modify something post the initial wizard, its easily done.

    A couple of notes:

    1) You cannot combine IGC with template config, you either use one or the other.

    2) There is a slight delay in feature parity on Airwave and IAP code. Currently supported IAP code for this is 6.2.1.0_3.2.x (whereas GA is 3.4)

    Cheers, Adam

I had been experimenting with the ICG Instant config gui on AMP version 7.7.4.

I was happy to see that 7.7.5 came out and I quickly upgraded AMP versions.

Once the system came up I got this message....

IGC engine is not currently running. It may be disabled. Enable it on the Groups Basic page. The engine may take a few minutes to start after it is enabled.

The instant GUI is enabled on the particular IAP cluster group I am using.

When I went to the event log this is what I see.

    Sat Oct 19 14:59:25 2013SystemSystemRestarting service IGC

It seems that the Instant GUI service cannot start.

Pretty Awesome Huh... I rebooted my system.  Deleted all groups that ever used ICG  on ver. 7.7.4.

I had a TAC tech look at it with no success.  It has been elevated but no info yet.

So maybe wait to upgrade to 7.7.5.

What could be happening that it's not possible to download Airwave from licensing.aruba.com ?

We need to download it now while waiting our user to get access to support to be approved

The result after clicking the download link is:

The application could not process you request. The error occured has been logged.

    Any help about that ?

    thanks

    Adam:

    thanks for your quick response.

the matter is that I can reach the page, get logged in, but after clicking on My Airwave, and then Download, a message is prompted:

The application could not process you request. The error occured has been logged.

Our client was registered, we got the licenses for the controller, and we even bought an Airwave license to them, but no way to download it.

    Are we missing something ?

If you need any data pls. let me know.

    thanks,

    Regards,

    Nelson

    Nelson,

What you described is the licensing portal interface, but AirWave needs to be downloaded from the Support site: http://support.arubanetworks.com/DOWNLOADSOFTWARE/tabid/75/DMXModule/510/Default.aspx?EntryId=12177

If you bought an AirWave license, the certificate ID is generally emailed to the person listed on the PO. At that point, you'd login the Aruba Licensing portal (https://licensing.arubanetworks.com/Login.aspx) and convert the certificate ID to a license key. If you are getting an error as described at any of these points, I'd open a case with TAC and they will review not only entitlement but your account credentials.

I've just tried again with my credentials and am able to download both the ISO or OVA. As above, if you are getting an error - I'd also log a call direclty to TAC to have them validate the credentials on the support site.

    Cheers, Adam

    Thanks a lot Adam !

We will install it next Monday over Xenserver.

Should the IP in the form to be filled with the private address or the public that uses to get access to Internet ?

    Thanks a lot

    and good Sunday !

    Cheers,

    Nelson,

I already sent you a link to download the software, and you should have already received an email with a temp license that you will need after you finish installing.  Please see the attached quickstart guide that details what you need to do, step by step..

Those steps + the temporary license I sent you will get you up and running.  The portal that A Kennedy sent is what you will need when you get a permanent license.  That can be installed at any time before the 90-day temp license I sent you expires.  The permanent license IS tied to the physical ip address that the Airwave server is assigned after install (not the public ip address).
