    Hi guys,

I have set up some Employee WLANs in an Instant AP. The security setting are as follows:

    securitysettings.png

As you can see, I have chosen WPA-2 Personal, and I have added a passphrase for authentication. However, when I check the networks in the Instant GUI, I see the following:

    checksettings.PNG

The Authentication Method tab shows "None". Why does it show None if I am using WPA-2 Personal with a passphrase?

    Regards,

    Julián

The Authentication Method tab can show only Layer-2 and Layer-3 authentications, like dot1x, MAC auth and captive portal.

WPA-Personal doesn't use any credentials, in fact.

    Hi,

But isn't passphrase a L2 authentication method? WPA doesn't use any credentials, but uses passphrase for authentication. This is from CWTS study guide: "The personal mode security mechanism uses a passphrase for authentication, which is intended for SOHO and personal use."

I think Authentication Method tab isn't as specific as it should be. "None" sounds like "Open".

    Julián
