    Hi AirHeads.

Can I backup a configuration on IAP225 and restore it to IAP205 ?
    Is it not recommended ?

What will happen when I restore the configuration to IAP205 using backup configuration file (instant.cfg) of IAP225 both ethernets are enabled ?

    HI,

As per my knowledge It is not possible because of different hardware, IAP 225 is Centaurus and 204 is Taurus.

    Thank you for reply.

It seems that "instant.cfg" is just configuration file and doesn't include something to check OS or platform.
NTL, is there no backup/restore function compatibility between different OS platform?
    (Support Policy doesn't permit it ? or I can't succeed operation ?)

If so, can I do backup the configuration of IAP204-A and restore it to IAP205-B ?

On the Maintenance>Configuration Tab, there is a checbox below.

"remove all configuration including per-AP settings and certificates"

Doesn't this ensure the compatibility of configuretion backup/restore between different hardware ?

And in the last hour, I tried restoring the instant.cfg to IAP205 from backup of IAP109.

    Restoring was succeed.

Is it true that "it is not possible" ?

    Thank you.

    Regards,

    Atsushi Ikeda

we can do as written by subject of this post.

As long as their version is same , we can do backup/restore between different class models.

    answer is wrong.
