When I perform a check for the latest firmware, I get an error reading: image_check_required class not found.

    Current firmware: 6.5.4.6_63925

Any ideas what is causing this?

Hi, thanks for the reply.  Yes.  It does show the correct time when I type that command.

Do you have a screenshot of the error?  Typically checking for updates will not upgrade you any further than what is included in the limited lifetime warranty software here:  http://support.arubanetworks.com/LifetimeWarrantySoftware/tabid/121/DMXModule/661/Default.aspx?EntryId=20388

    Thank you.

Is there anything under the upgrade log "show log upgrade" on the Virtual Controller?

I may have figured this out.

It’s because the 205’s don’t support 8.x code and the cluster is checking in for the latest supported version of code off the cloud, which is 8.3 code.

The latest version of code for the 205’s is 6.5.4.7 because the memory in the 205’s cannot support 8.x code.

    Can someone confirm?

Hi-  How would one confirm this?  And, what is the answer for clusters that contain a 205?

6.5.4.3 is the latest that can be obtained by "Check for Firmware".  It should only upgrade you to what is here:  http://support.arubanetworks.com/LifetimeWarrantySoftware/tabid/121/DMXModule/661/EntryId/27582/Default.aspx

If you are on firmware later than that, it should not upgrade automatically past what is on that page.  If you have hardware that requres 8.3, please let TAC know.

The Limited Lifetime Warranty info is here:  http://www.arubanetworks.com/assets/faq/FAQ_product_warranty.pdf

From my understanding, the "check for updates" provides you with the latest software that is shipping with the product.

With that being said, there is probably an issue with the Check For Updates button that needs to be fixed.

I have a small cluster with a mix of 303H and 205. The 303H can take 8x code but the 205 can only go up to 6.5x

Check firmware failes with this error. My understanding is that we need to manually update each one. The GUI expects a URL but the help mentions it can be a local image.

What URLs do we use? Or does it have to be a local TFTP/HTTP server?
