    As a feature request I would like to see the internal captive portal being configurable so that it is not so wide, which causes issues with small portrait devices, such as smartphones.  For these devices you could change the captive portal splash screen so it is very compact with a title, logo, conditions text and the login fields:

    Thanks for the heads up.  I had added it so hopefully it will get some traction as:

     

    • It is practical and user experience affecting.
    • It shouldn't be that hard to implement.
    • Competitive access points already have this feature.

    Thank you for your valuable suggestion. Currently we have plans to solve this problem using a cloud-based captive portal solution. Once released, the cloud-based captive portal will have a variety of customization options and built-in, easy to use customization tools.

    Thanks for the update.

     

    A cloud based fully featured external captive portal will be great but for small deployments, where the IAP103 hits the perfect price point, we just need a smaller internal captive portal splash screen and we have a great, cost effective solution.  The current internal captive portal splash screen is 95% of the way to what we need.  I believe that anything which adds cost to the IAP103 will adversely affect its sales in smaller markets where customers can be very cost sensitive.

    Is that an estimated release date for the cloud based captive portal solution?   Will it be part of Aruba Central?

    A customizable Guest portal via Aruba Central will be available near the end of the calendar year.  Details will be available near product launch.
