    I am going to be using a RAP 155 (Instant OS version 6.4.0.2) in standalone mode to test a variety of wireless protocols in a variety of places. I wired Ethernet uplink is not practical. Using Wi-Fi as an uplink is also not practical due to location changes. I also don't have any 3G/4G cellular usb adapter. 

     

    The Wireless profile is set with "Disable SSID on uplink Failure" to Unchecked.

    In system setting > Show Advanced> Uplink,  "Unforce Uplink" is set to None.  

     

    I have already configured the Wireless networks the way I want. I NEED to be able to run them without an uplink. 

     

    Any sugestions?

    Edit your SSID and go under Advanced Settings.  There is a setting for "Can be used without uplink" and make sure that is enabled.

    Unfortanty that does not exisit in this version of InstantOS 6.4

    What version does "Can be used without uplink" show up?

    Odd................it looks like the feature was re-named in the GUI but not in the CLI.

     

    I enabled it via the CLI under the SSID profile

     

    wlan ssid-profile employee
     enable
     work-without-uplink
     index 1
     type employee
     <truncated>
     max-clients-threshold 64

     

    When I did that it enabled the "Disable SSID on link Failure" option in the GUI. Try enabling "Disable SSID on link failure" and try it again.

    Well, That work. 

    Probably a UI bug for the wrong wording. A Full days frustration all boils down to one checkbox that isn't worded right.
