    Hi,

We have 3 IAPs (215, 2pcs 205) and I would like to delete them from Aruba Central. I disconnected them from network, I was able to delete this way the APs from Aruba Central. I revoked the licenses from APs in My Devices menu. I restarted the APs. Still they are connected to Aruba Central and I do not have control over my devices. Please advise! Thank you!

    Hi,

Central fetches device information from Activate. If the IAPs were added in Activate, then it will show in Central.

Do you have a TAC ticket open for this?

    Hello,

Not yet, first I wanted to ask the community whether I am doing something wrong. Thank you!

Please check with TAC on removing the APs from Activate if needed

    Hi,

IAP's would be controlled by Central only if licenses are assigned to it.

If there is no license assigned to them, you should have local access to the IAP & should be make configuration changes.

If possible , share the screenshot from the subscription assignment page.

    Yes, that is clear.

I assigned the licences to the devices and Central controlled them.

I unsubscribed them, took them offline, deleted them from Central. After powering them back on, Central displayed the devices  unsubscribed, but loging on to the local Virtual Controller, it was saying Central: Connected, I couldn't controll my devices.

I checked back on Central, it was saying unsubscribed for the devices, but it was showing all APs active, and Central was controlling them. As if Central couldn't release the devices for some reason. It would be nice to be able to receive the control back from Central over my devices, since I installed Instant OS on our AP-367s, they are working, but Central says they are unsupported and they cannot connect to our prevoius devices (IAP-205, IAP-215). I would like to have the control back on our Master VC (IAP-215) and be able to connect the 367s to the same network and Master VC.

Or Central could control our AP-367s with Instant OS on them as well.

    Hi,

Is it possible to share the serial number for the VC?

    Hi,

Do you have the license assigned to this device currently?

Please share your customer ID which is seen on central interface or email address that you use for logging in to central

    Hi,

Yes, they are. I did put them back because this is a live network and I need access and control for the APs.

I will unsubscribe them now and will check on them in 2 hours and see their status.

    Hi Balazs,

I can see that license has been unassigned from all the 3 IAP's.

Now it should allow you to make the changes to IAP cluster locally.

Please share the following output from IAP's CLI:

    show ap debug cloud-server

Btw, the AP-367 with Instant OS will be able to connect to IAP-215 running as the Virtual Controller? Thanks!

    Hi Balazs,

IAP's will different platform can co-exist provided they are running on the same version.

The image name varies but the version will be same.

Eg: Minimum supported version for IAP-367 will be 4.3.2.

So, if IAP-215 is also running on 4.3.2, then they can be part of the same cluster.

Have you already received IAP-367 ?

As per the output, IAP's are showing in local-mgmt mode.

Did you  see them joning central again inspite of unassigning the licenses?

No, they are disconnected from Central, and Central shows them as 'Down'. Thank you!
