IAP-205 and IAP-305 mixing

    It is my understanding that AP-205 model is being discontinued or has been?

     

    We have about 80+ IAP-205s (2 years old) that are being moved to new locations.. The new locations will be larger and we'll likely need to purchased more APs. The next comparable model is IAP-305.  I understand that they will function in the same cluster. Is there anything I need to be aware about to make sure we don't run into any issues?

    The latest version, likely... We tend to update them as we see them come through..

    Make sure that the IAP305s have the same code as the existing cluster otherwise those wont joint the cluster

    The IAP-305 required Aruba InstantOS 4.3.1.0 and up

    Hi all,

     

    We've a cluster with iap 205 & iap 215 but iap 305 won't appear in the cluster.

     

    Our firmware is 6.4.4.8-4.2.4.6_58505

     

    Any idea?

    Manually upgrade or downgrade your 305s on a different subnet to the 6.4.4.8-4.2.4.6_58505 release.  http://support.arubanetworks.com/LifetimeWarrantySoftware/tabid/121/DMXModule/661/Default.aspx?EntryId=24665

     

    I was wrong.  The AP-305's minimum code level is 4.3.1.0  http://www.arubanetworks.com/assets/ds/DS_AP300Series.pdf

    You will have to upgrade your cluster to this version, first before adding 305s....
