I am getting ready to deploy a wireless network using IAP 105s that must interact with an MS Lync 2013 network and provide QoS to make sure that all communication features of Lync are smooth.

Anyone have an experience deploying Wi-Fi using Instant and supporting Lync??

Any thoughts or best practices are welcome :)

For the IAPs I think you should follow the pre-6.3 guide with the 'classify-media' option.

I'm hoping the 6.3 controller integration with Lync will also be available for the instants soon, but someone from Aruba can comment on that.

For instant from version 3.4 on you use the classify media option like this

This will give you the identification and tagging you need for Lync.

We do not yet support the SDN API integration into instant - though it is something we are looking into.

Thanks Turner, that is what I was told.
Lync is cloud based, therefore I believe "sips" is the correct service.

Once media is classified, then what? Forgive my ignorance, I am new to the Lync world and I am trying to read up as much as I can

Actually if you are using office 365 / Lync online you need to change the port to 443 as all of that type of Lync traffic goes over 443.

Classify media tells instant to scan the call signaling traffic. Once detected the Lync video and voice traffic flows will be tagged.

You also need to make sure WMM is enabled and you have DSCP mappings set for your environment.

    So something like this

Have to make sure their are valid certificates on the network

Then, WMM and broadcast/multicast settings like so?
