    Hi everyone.

Is there a way to configure a high priority for specific apps (for ex - sharepoint) on aruba instant?

QoS, minimum bandwidth or some other way?

We have no controller, only IAP-103 and IAP-105 in our environment.

We want to configure high priority on IAP, not on router.

    HI,

I'm not sure but try with AppRF feature in IAP.

    ilmik,

The most important part of the link is between the client and the access point because that is where all the contention exists.  If the client cannot mark application packets high priority using WMM, a client cannot have priority.  Most VOIP handsets and some VOIP applications on clients can mark VOIP traffic for prioritization.  If your client cannot mark packets for your application (very few if any do), the traffic cannot be prioritized by your WLAN infrastructure:  http://wifi-insider.com/wlan/wmm.htm

    cjoseph, thanks for the answer.

But InstantOS can mark app traffic itself through role-based firewall as I know.
How can i prioritize the marked traffic on the same IAP then?

Unfortunately, the access point cannot mark the traffic coming from the client until after the access point has already received it.  True prioritization happens "over the air" between the access point and the client, and that depends on the client to mark the traffic so it can be prioritized.  The access point will not know what traffic is being sent until after it is received and the traffic is decrypted.
