    Hello,

I have a question regarding Instant AP deployment. Let's assume that Master IAP has already broken. What will happen? How the other IAP select new Master? I am very interesting what type of message the IAP sending during Master selection. Is it possible that broadcast storm occure on my network?

Thank you very much for quick response!

    Regards,

    Mathew

Control messages occur using PAPI, the same protocol used in a campus environment. The election process is dynamic but certain IAPs can be marked as preferred master.

    Thanks,
    Tim

Thank you very much for response. Could you tell me more about new Master selection? Is it possible that during master selection quality of user traffic e.g voice or video will be worse?

    Regards,

    Mathew

Traffic will only be affected if:

    - guest user traffic is being NAT'd
    - traffic is destined for a tunnel
    - the client is connected to the AP that dies.

Most Instant traffic is locally bridged at the AP.

    Thanks,
