In the firmware 6.5.0.0-4.3.0.0, the aruba WAP allows users to set EIRP which can exceed the defined MAX EIRP. For ex: when MAX EIRP is set to 13dBm, it allows us to set the EIRP upto 15dBm.

The below log shows the MAX EIRP and the current EIRP:

This is a bug in the latest aruba software release which is a violation of EU regulation. Can someone confirm and look into it?

If the regulatory limits have changed recently, you would need to grab the latest IAP version of code to be in compliance. I have asked our regulatory team as well, but 13dB sounds low for ch149 to be the max.

Note that it is weird to see the setting at 15 when the noted max is 13, I would open a TAC case (nothing will get fixed or officially addressed here on this forum).

Actually 'm thinking this is a misconfig. If you set the ARM value to X up to 13dB, but then you manually set it to 15, you are over-riding the min/max ARM setting. The regulatory max is well over 13 of course, but you should open a TAC case to make sure this is addressed in your situation, as you have the first release of a major bracnh of code. If there's a bug, it's likely already addressed.

    Hi Jerrod,

I was running a negative test case that's when I noticed this bug. As per your advice, I upgraded the software version to 6.5.1.0-4.3.1.1 where this issue is no longer seen.

I will continue using this verson henceforth. Thank you for your help.. Really appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Shiva
