    Hi!

     

    I'm just preparing an environment for a customer presentation and would like to show AppRF and Mesh in an Instant Cluster with 3x IAP-205-RW and 1x IAP-325-RW. I don't have any older equipment in my lab.

     

    I'm now using code version 6.4.4.3-4.2.2.1_53878 - because the version below 4.2.0.0 does not support Mesh with the IAP-205-RW.

     

    Cluster and Mesh work's fine (not with the IAP-325 - I think Mesh is still not supported with this product) and AppRF exists in the Admin GUI, but it cannot be activated. Looks like that there is no DPI at all.

     

    Is there a newer code version with Mesh and AppRF functionality available?

     

    It would be very helpful to have a support matrix which product and which code version supports essential features like this. (Example: There is still no support of mesh with the GA version for the 802.11ac APs I think - our customers asks for features like AppRF which they have seen in the colourful presentations...)

    Correct, mesh is not supported on the 325 yet (it is still TBD, but likely in AOS 6.5, and then will follow 2-3 months later with IAP). 

     

    I am not aware of any limitations with 11ac Wave1 IAPs with Mesh and AppRF (last I saw it worked fine whne I had it up and running). Maybe Yan can chime in or Vishal? AFAIK 11ac Wave 1 APs (AP/IAP-2xx) should work fine with mesh and AppRF. I just don't have any up right now to check.

    There is a beta version that supports AppRf. Please PM me of you want to try it.

    Can we use build 4.2.1.2? That is the recommended version for 205 mesh with AppRF.

     

    4.2.2.X are only for customers who wants an early preview of 325.

    @Colin

    Thank you for preview-version 6.4.4.4-4.2.3.0_53593 - works perfect in my Lab with Mesh and AppRF now.

     

    Had a perfect live demo yesterday in an auditorium - Really "Instant" setup (in 15 minutes from scratch) as it should be - auditorium could test the on the fly configured App Role in a Guest SSID.

    (Just the logo was a little bit painful as it was a HPE Aruba event...)

    An actual release is coming out soon.  Please limit your use of the beta to lab environments if possible.

    I understand this completely - hope to see the actual release soon.

     

    In my public presentation yesterday I used the old 6.4.2.6-4.1.1.12_53944 Version with AppRF and did not show Mesh - intead concentrated on how fast and "instant" everything is...

     

    I never used the prerelease in the public (as there was also an HPE Aruba Business Unit Manager presenting with me - no good idea to show up "another" logo than Aruba - proper branding is an important thing in these days)  and removed the IAP-325 from my instant cluster....

    Hello!

     

    Regarding to the post from Colin - is there a beta release wich supports mesh on
    IAP-325/324?

    I've tested the early deployment release 6.4.4.4-4.2.3.1_54637 on 325 wich still not supporting mesh on 325.
    Can we expect a mesh supporting release for 325 soon?

    There is no beta for mesh on the 325 at this time yet (that I have seen, and likely won't until summer time Jun/Jul).
