I have a brand new RAP-109 here (fresh out of the box) that seems to have an issue. Or maybe the issue is me.

When I connect it to a switch & then power the Enet1 & Enet0 lights flash once, the power light flashes twice and then nothing.

No lights, no SSID being broadcast, absolutely nothing.

I've done some google-ing but can't find a cause or solution and wonder if anyone here has any tips?

Is the RAP getting an IP address ?

    Victor,

I have no idea how I could check that...

You need to check a couple of things:

    - What VLAN on that switch the IAP is connected to ?

    - What are you using to provide an IP address ?

    - You could check the arp table on the L3 device

    Victor,

Correction, the device is connected to a router *not* a switch.

Somehow multiple hard reboot have seem to have done part of the job as I now have green lights on the device ( PWR, Enet1, 5GHz & 2.4GHz).

However it still isn't braodcasting any SSID (even a hidden one).

Do you have more Instants in the same segment ?

You need to confirm that the device is getting an IP address , look at DHCP or ARP table to make sure it is in fact an IP address and also try pinging the device

I had to fiddle around with the router but eventually discovered that the AP is indeed being assigned an IP address.

Still can't detect a wifi signal or SSID...

    EvertBopp-

Are you plugging your uplink to your router on E1?  E0 is actually your uplink to the network.  Once you have an active link on E0 and an IP address you should see the "Instant" SSID.
