    Hi,

How to encrypt WIFI password for users? Is there any option available in aruba Instant?

Is there any option available to set the download limit for some users?

    Thanks & Regards.,

    Srinivas.

    • If you are using secure SSID the password is always encrypted.

    • You can limit bandwidth for users in Instant, not download limit.

for that you have to use Clearpass.

    Hi Suman,

How to configure Secure SSID? I cannot find any option while configuring WIFI in aruba.

Presently we are using Radius Server, there is no issue but network speed has been reduced & we are getting DNS Conflicts also.

    Regards.,

    Srinivas.

Can you be more specific? You say you're using a radius server already, so what are you trying to configure?

    Thanks,
    Tim

    Hi,

As i told you previously presently we are using radius server & we are having the issues like DNS failovers & the speed of the network is also very slow. So we are planning to shift the network to WPA/WPA2.

If we configure normally means for laptop users the WIFI preshared key is going to be visible. But our requirement is to protect that Key/Password.

    Regards.,

    Srinivas.

If PSK security is a concern, then you will need to use 802.1X (PEAP or EAP-TLS)

    Thanks,

    Hi Tim,

How to configure the wifi with 802.1x in Aruba Instant. We have to use enterprise & we need a radius server right? If we use radius server the network is becoming very slow.

    Regards.,

    Srinivas.

You can either use an external radius server (my recommendation) or the Instant can perform RADIUS duties.

What is your existing radius server?

    Thanks,
    Tim

    Hi,

Presently we have configured Radius server in our own server.

You replied that the Instant can itself perform the Radius duties How?

    Srinivas.

    Hi Tim,

    Sorry for delay.

I have configured a radius server in windows server 2012 & that has been linked up with Aruba Network. The issue is with firewall & now it has been resolved.

    Thanks & Regards.,

    Srinivas.

As per my knowledge that is not because of radius server, might be some other issue . [Like interference, Uplink misconfiguration]

i would start troubleshooting that first. WPA2 enterprise authentication works fine for many deployments so if it doesn't for you there probably is something wrong that can be fixed.

what exactly is a DNS failover? and how did you conclude that the wireless network is slow?
