can a 204 be an instant controller for a 205 or a 275

    Hi All,

     

    We run an Airwave server managing 8 IAP 204 instant controllers at 8 locations with anywhere from 20-30 IAP 204s apiece. Now we are introducing some IAP 205s into the mix and are having trouble getting them to associate with the 204 instant controllers. Any suggestions?

    Yes you can but you need to have the same level of code as the rest of the cluster

    What version of code is the existing cluster running?

    Current versions of AMP 8.2.2

    Current version of instant controller 204 is 6.4.4.4-4.2.3.1_54637

    Current version of instant access point 205 is 6.4.2.3-4.1.1.4_49446

    4.2.3.1 is not GA, so the 205 will not automatically upgrade over the internet (the cloud) to match the cluster.  You need to upgrade it manually yourself on another network.

     

    Ideally, you would already have Airwave managing the configuration as well as the firmware of all devices, so it would not be dependent on the cloud to upgrade firmware.
