Small installation with 5 iAP-104's.  Working just fine for the last several months. Firmware upgraded to 6.4.2.3-4.1.1.2_48114 via Instant GUI.  After upgrade, WiFi network becomes unstable and unusable after 12-36 hours.  Unable to access Instant GUI when network fails.  Only way to bring WiFi network back is to manually power cycle Master AP.  Same problem occurs again in 12-36 hours. Nothing else changed on network.

Other threads here on Airheads forums that appear to document this issue:

    https://community.arubanetworks.com/t5/Aruba-Instant-Cloud-Wi-Fi/Big-problems-w-115-225-Cluster/td-p/224264

I had to revert firmware to a previous version to bring network back to reliable operation.  Not easy to do since you can't manually download any version of firmware unless you have a support contract. Maybe the Instant GUI should save a copy of the existing firmware before upgrade.

It looks like this is a known issue and has been so for a couple of weeks.  Why is a firmware release still available with such a major bug?  Pull it from release, fix it, and test the fixed version thoroughly before release.  Is this too much to ask?

Does anyone know when a fixed version may be available?

    Hi,

first please try to factory Reset you AP.

you can do that using the reset button or using The CLI .

and then check if you IAP become rechebal

Sorry, I already performed a factory reset with the new firmware in place prior to my original post.  It had no effect on the problem at all.  Something appears to trigger the master iAP-104 to go into a high CPU state and the GUI is not reachable when this happens.  The only way to restore functionality is to power cycle the master AP.  I've also tried setting preferred master to different AP's just in case a single AP was causing the problem.  It does not matter what AP is the Master.  After a number of hours, the system appears to lock up, the GUI is unreachable, and new clients cannot connect (unable to receive an IP address from the controller DHCP).

    Very disappointing.

    Hello,

have just closed a ticket with Aruba tech support regarding this release of firmware. We were testing prior to deployment and noticed severe service affecting issues. Tech support also informed us they have a ticket with R&D to investigate and have done for weeks.Again no idea why this version is still on the web site available to download.Anyway new release 4.1.1.3 due out mid March.

    Regards

    Mike
