Looking for best practice designs in a Data Center DMZ deployment.

We have a customer that wants to deploy Aruba Mobility controllers in a Data Center environment.  There are a number of remote offices that have APs deployed and are remote hosted to various controllers across multiple locations.  All APs are to be re-homed to controllers inside a DMZ environment at the Data Center.  This means all SSID's, employee (802.1x) and Guest traffic will traverse multiple NIPS and Firewalls.  The concern is latency.

Have you seen the RAP VRD here?  http://community.arubanetworks.com/t5/Validated-Reference-Design/Remote-AP-Networks/ta-p/155140

Yes I have.  I've deployed the RAP solution on numerous occasions.  These are not RAPs but Remote Hosted APs.  APs that are on the Intranet of the company and build their GRE tunnels accross the Intranet to a centrally located mobility controller.  These were deployed over the years before the IAP solution was available.  The customer now wants to move the termination point of those APs GRE tunnels to a controller inside the Data Center and inside a DMZ.

So these are Campus APs.  Unless you have a logical diagram, it is hard to guess if it will work or not.
