Typically support recommends starting SCREEN session for upgrades, restores, and manual backups. In some cases, you may run into the following error:

screen: error while loading shared libraries: libutempter.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

To resolve this, you'll want to do the following:
If your AMP has access to the internet:
# yum install utempter

If your AMP doesn't have access to the internet, then you'll need to download the libutempter rpm package:
libutempter-1.1.4-4.el5.i386
libutempter-1.1.4-4.el5.x86_64
