Question : Ongoing space issues on one of our AirWave 7.7.4 servers.
We reduced our client history from 370 days to 200 days, waited for the nightly maintenance, no noticeable change in DB size or Free disk space.
Environment Information : This issue is seen on Airwave 7.7 release
Symptoms : The WebUI of Airwave will be down and the the disk will be shown as 100% utilized.
Cause : This is is caused because Airwave missed to gracefully remove the older versions on pgsql.
Login to CLI of Airwave and run the below commands.
[root@amp pgsql]# cd /var/lib/pgsql
[root@amp pgsql]# ls
9.0/ 9.2/ current_version@
If we see more than one version of pgsql in thie directory, it means that the older version has not been removed gracefully.
Note: This has been reported to engineering and will get addressed in 7.7.10 release of Airwave.
As a work around, we can run the below commands.
[root@amp pgsql]# rm -rf /var/lib/pgsql/9.0
This is to manually delete the old version.
[root@amp data]# cd /var/lib/pgsql/9.2/data
[root@amp data]# cp postmaster.pid postmaster.pid.old
Make a copy of the pid file.
[root@amp data]# rm -rf postmaster.pid
Delete the original pid file.
[root@amp mercury]# rd
[root@amp mercury]# ra
Restart the services.
