How to update the CentOS on Airwave
Q:

How to update the CentOS on Airwave without doing a fresh install?

A:

We can do a CentOS update to the latest version on Airwave using the "yum update" command if we are having internet access on the server. In this way we don't have to do a fresh install for updating the CentOS.

To find the current CentOS version running on the server we can execute the below command,

# crr

To update the CentOS we can execute the below command,

# yum update -y

Note: The upgrade applies only for minor version and not for major. i.e. we can upgrade from 5.0 to any patch release like 5.2 or 5.6 however, we wont be able to upgrade to a major release like 6.0.
