Issues with Airwave Eth 0 interface on Hyper V installation

Aruba Employee

Question : ETH 0 is not detected by Airwave on a Hyper V installation.

Environment Information : Aruba officially supports installation of Airwave on Hyper V. However the issue in question is seen if the steps recommended in quick start guide is not followed.

Cause : Airwave is built on CentOS, and CentOS 6.4 installation on Hyper V may run in to the above issue

Resolution : Below are the steps to resolve it.

Login to the of Airwave as Root user and run the below commands.

1: Navigate to /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ and open the ifcfg-eth0 file

# cd /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/
# cat ifcfg-eth0

Please make sure that we have the correct details for each attribute in this file. A sample file is shown below.

To enter the correct values, we may open the file in Edit mode using Vi or Vim editor.

Once we have proper values, we would create symbolic links to this file as shown below.

# ln /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 /etc/sysconfig/networking/devices/ifcfg-eth0
# ln /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 /etc/sysconfig/networking/profiles/default/ifcfg-eth0

Finally run the below commands to activate the interface and reboot the server.

# ifconfig eth0 up
# reboot now

The WebUI should be accessible after the server is online.
