The migration of AMP to CentOS is fairly straightforward, provided you follow these simple steps: Step 1 - Upgrade AMP to 5.1.6 if you have an earlier versionStep 2 - Backup your AMP 5.1.6 dataStep 3 - Install the CentOS based AMP 5.1.6 ISO Step 4 - Restore your 5.1.6 backup to the new CentOS system Step 5 - Upgrade to the latest version of AMP. In this example we'll use AMP 5.3.3 ---- Upgrade AMP to 5.1.6 ----If you have an earlier version of AMP that is older then 5.1.6, then you must upgrade to 5.1.6. To upgrade to AMP 5.1.6: 1. Log in to the AMP server as the root user. 2. Run the upgrade utility with the desired version#/usr/local/airwave/bin/amp_upgrade v 5.1.6 l your.email.address@yourcompany.com p your-AirWave-support-password---- BACKUP AMP Data & License ---- A backup of AMP creates two files; a configuration file and a data file. You will need just the data backup to completely restore your AMP on the new OS. To copy your data backup from the old AMP to the new AMP we recommend WinSCP (http://winscp.net/). 1. SSH into the AMP, or physically access the AMP terminal and login as root. Run the backup script. # scripts; ./amp_backup 2. Copy the backup onto another machine using WinSCP. The backup will be stored in /alternative/databackup.tar.gz. 3. From the Home->License page, copy the License to a text file on another machine. ---- PRE-INSTALL ---- The AMP 5.1.6 ISO is available for download from http://www.airwave.com/download/AMP-5.1.6.isousername: your.email.address@yourcompany.com password: your-AirWave-support-password Basic instructions for installing AMP are available in the AMP QuickStart Guide at http://airwave.com/download/docs/AMP-5.1-QuickstartGuide.pdf. The QuickStart Guide includes all the information you need in order to get a new CentOS-based AMP installation up and running, including instructions for burning the AMP ISO image to CD. ----- AMP INSTALL ---- Follow the instructions in the AMP Quickstart Guide to install AMP 5.1.6 from the CD you burned earlier. http://airwave.com/download/docs/AMP-5.1-QuickstartGuide.pdf Installing from the CD will install CentOS 4.2 as your operating system. (note: the default root password is admin) ---- AMP RESTORE ---- 1. Copy the data backup back onto the machine. Where you place the files does not matter.
