Monitoring, Management & Location Tracking

using proxies with wget

Aruba Employee

Log in to the AMP as root through ssh with a program like SecureCRT or putty or you can physically login to the AMP terminal.

TO SET THE PROXY INFORMATION FOR ONE SESSION:

Set the environmental proxy variable:

export http_proxy=http://proxy.myprovider.net:8080

This should auto enable proxy use. There is a switch you can include in the wget command --proxy=on . If you need to specify a username and password to your proxy server use --proxy-user='username' and --proxy-passwd='password'.

Your wget command should look something like this. The --proxy switches should be optional once you have set the proxy environmental variable.

wget --proxy=on --proxy-user='username' --proxy-passwd='password' --http-user='downloadusername' --http-passwd='downloadpassword' http://www.airwave.com/download/upgrade.sh

TO SET THE PROXY INFORMATION PERMANENTLY:

You can edit this section in the /etc/wgetrc file and permanently enter the proxy information there:

# You can set the default proxies for Wget to use for http and ftp.
# They will override the value in the environment.
#http_proxy = http://proxy.yoyodyne.com:18023/
#ftp_proxy = http://proxy.yoyodyne.com:18023/
