what is "Use Specified Group/Folder for Instant APs & Aruba Switches" feature used for, present on Airwave GUI in new devices list? 

 



A:

Starting from Airwave 8.2.3.1, we have a new feature, "Use specifed Group/Folder featured for Instant APs & Aruba Switches" , it can be used when we want to move a VC(s) or switch (s) to a group, which does/do not match its organization string or the Aruba Activate configuration.

For example:

If we have a VC sitting in the new devices and we want to add it to Access points (Group) and Top (Folder), when we have use specified group feature set to NO, as shown below:

We would see the below error and the device would automatically be placed in the group and folder matching its organization string, Instead of the group and folder we specified, while adding.

However, if we set Yes for this feature, we would be able to add this device to any group or folder we specify, irrespective of the organization string, as shown below:

we will not see the error:
