While trying to upgrade AirWave from 7.6.3 to 7.7.0 I received the following error:
------------------------
STEP 5: Installing upgrade.
make: Leaving directory `/root/svn/mercury'
OUI stuff took 0.87s
regulatory domain took 0.17s
firmware version stuff took 0.50s
(update_db.pl ready_all/wait_all took 3.43s)
Completed update_db at Tue Jul 9 13:09:03 2013
(cd /usr/local/airwave/lib/java; JAVA_HOME=/usr/java/jre /bin/su visualrf ./visu alrf_schema.sh)
make[1]: *** [updatedb] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/root/svn/mercury'
make: *** [upgrade] Error 2
make: Leaving directory `/root/svn/mercury'
------------------
The upgrade took, but I cannot log into the Web UI. I tried using "amp_enable" and "ra" but it did not fix the issue.
Now when trying to revert back to 7.6.3, it says "cannot downgrade". Is there a way to downgrade to 7.6.3 if I have the .tar.gz file on the AirWave server? I do not have a recent backup of AirWave prior to attempting the upgrade.
Thanks!

That's a bug that will be fixed in 7.7.1 (eta this week).
You should be able to finish your upgrade by running these exact commands:
# sed -i 's/128m/2048m/' /root/svn/mercury/lib/java/visualrf_schema.sh
# root; make
