    Hi,

I'd like to use AMON. Everything seems to be working (there's data in Airwave) but the numbers are just wrong.

For example: the total connect clients is far too low.

    14:30 #show user-table summary

    ipv4 wireless Users: 1592

    Airwave: 427

The graph keeps going up and down but the number of clients in Airwave are never near the number of clients seen on the controller. After switching to amon graph falls to zero but never reaches snmp values.

    What am I missing?

    Airwave: 7.7.4.

    AOS: 6.3.0.1.

    Controller: 3600.

Although you have AMON enabled, make sure that you also have the ssh creds for the controller inputted in AirWave.  This is used to re-request any missed data.  I also suggest opening a support case to track further as there's an ongoing investigation by AOS into similar behavior.

I've noticed this same behavior with AOS 6.3.1.2 and Airwave 7.7.9

I much prefer the depth of data I get from AMON, but the breadth is oddly not-so-broad.

300 clients not reported when I "prefer AMON"

    Is there a fix?

    msabin,

Try updating to 7.7.10.  - Release Notes - DE17080 several AMON fixes were introduced to address issues with stale client data, clients showing as associated to the wrong AP, multiple entries for the same session, and Async Logger Client

I enabled prefer AMON on 7.7.10 and it seems to have accurate counts.

Now on 7.7.10 -- I turned AMON prefer back on and shortly lost 200 clients:

The setting seems to be mis-named, when I switch to "AMON preferred" most SNMP disappears, when I switch it off, most AMON disappears, I'd have exepcted "preferred" meant to do one and fall back to the other, or get both and give preference to one. Feels more like an on/off switch.

Looks like "Prefer Amon" is still not working.  Prefer AMON only uses AMON.  Leave it off and we will continue to pursue this.

i've been having a similar issue but with CPU load statistics. Are these sent via AMON or only SNMP?

This is using 7.7.9 and 6.3.1.2

They can be obtained via SNMP.

Heh, my old topic. Still not resolved this issue? :smileysurprised:

Actually, on our systems running AOS 6.3.1.3 and Airwave 7.7.9. and a daily reboot of the Airwave server the data looks ok.

Aruba TAC advised me not to use AMON. This was several months and updates ago. No case # since it was handled via our Aruba partner.

did you see the scenario: some cellphone with 3G will display two addresses in the controller, airwave will cut these wrong address clients
