Airwave Mass Group Creation

Anyway to use a script to create multiple AMP groups.

I need to create 28 AMP groups. I am doing this because I need to monitor the configuration of each controller as they are different.

Any possible way to do this using scripts? I got my answer in terms of Airwave folders.

Thanks.

Re: Airwave Mass Group Creation

Yes, there's a create groups from csv script

# cd /root/svn/mercury/scripts

# ./create_groups_from_csv.pl

./create_groups_from_csv.pl <csv_data_file>
Create groups from a csv file. The first line will need to be group_name.
Each additional line should be the name of a new group. This version of the Group create script
is meant to copy a group that is very close to the default settings.
If there have been a lot of changes to the group you may need to comment out the two resub lines
for the groups to copy properly.

There is another script that will auto-authorize your APs and place them into groups for you.
That script will also create any groups that do not exist.

CSV Format:

group_name
Chem Building
Cafeteria
Library
Administartion Building

--> first row entry of CSV must be group_name

Here's an example run through:

[root@amp scripts]# cat /tmp/csv
group_name
group1
group2
group3

[root@amp scripts]# ./create_groups_from_csv.pl /tmp/csv
Created group1 group
Created group2 group
Created group3 group

Total Created: 3.

And then verify that your UI reflects the desired groups.

Re: Airwave Mass Group Creation

Thanks that worked just great.

What I liked about the script was that it copied the group settings I had already created (a modification of the default access point group).
