Network Management

I am trying to figure out why Airwave is not showing the SNR info under RF Performance.  Health and Speed are shown but SNR is not.  

 

I am using the default-amp profile on all Aruba controllers (ArubaOS 6.4.0.1) and Airwave 8.0.1.  

 

Any suggestions as to where to look for troubleshooting?

Is amon enabled under AMP Setup -> General ?

Do you have AMON enabled ? on both sides?

AMON is enabled in Airwave.  I have also setup Airwave as the mgmt-server on the controllers using the default-amp profile.

 

 

OK, I changed "Prefer AMON vs SNMP Polling" from Yes to No, and now I am getting the SNR info.  Not sure why that fixes things...

 

There is no firewall stopping UDP 8211 traffic between Airwave and the controllers.  I am not sure what else would be stopping AMON from working correctly. 

Are you allowing 8211/UDP between controller and airwave ?

Also checked if the information is getting send out:

show mgmt-server message-counters process wms
show mgmt-server message-counters process stm

I have confirmed there is no firewall stopping PAPI traffic.  

 

I did check the mgmt-server counters before and they showed messages being passed as I would expect.  

 

Going to try upgrading AMP to the latest version and see if it makes a difference.

Theres been a lot of bug fixes since 8.0.1

you shouldn't have to do prefer AMON vs SNMP to make it work.

As victor suggests, upgrade is your best course. I would then test without that option enabled and see if you are getting SNR results

Upgrading to AMP 8.0.5 appears to have resolved the issue.
