Airwave switch HP 1700-24 status down

    Hello,

     

    I'm trying to register my HP procurve swith 1700-24 in my airwave server, it's correctly detected but the status stick to Down (SNMP get Failed).

    That's odd because all informations have been well retreived from my switch :

    - Neighbors tab is well filled

    - Interfaces are all there

    The only thing which is not retreive is the usage traffic.

     

    This status "Down" prevent it to be visible in "Topology" module.

     

    In the alerts & Event section : Failed to read device ressource data (received no data)

     

     

    I tried various device type (Router/switch, universal network, custom  ...) but each time there is a different problem (no lldp , snmp get failed, trzffci usage is there but no neighbors ...).

     

    Anybody else with this kind of problem ?

    The down status reports SNMP communication issue.  Have you tried following this article to test SNMP?

     

    What version of SNMP is in use?  Double check that it matches the Group -> Basic -> SNMP version setting.

    I did the folowing check :


    $ sw2 100 sysname
    SNMPv2-MIB::sysName.0 = STRING: 1700 Entrepot3

    so the SNMP connection is ok.

    Sw2 100 .1 -Cc

    no timeout, saw the whole mib table.

    In the monitor screen

    Status : Down (SNMP get failed)

    Firmware unknow, no LAN MAC address, no usage, no uptime

    In the Neighbors tab, i call see all devices conencted to the switch

    In the Interfaces screen i can see all switch interfaces with incoming/outgoing traffic

     

    But status still Down !!!

    Polling the device now doesn't correct the down status?  Check the SNMP fetcher logs from the System -> Status page, make sure there's no crashes/errors.

     

    Did you happen to try restarting the application from the bottom of the System page?  If not, give that a try when you can afford to have the AMP down for 10-15 minutes.

     

    If polling now and restarting the application doesn't resolve the issue, then it might be time to open a support case.
