I see the nightly backups are finished perfect. But these are on the AMP server's HDD. I want to do a more secure backup, by automatically export/copy the nightly backups to an e.g. external FTP server.

 

Is there a way to do this?

 

Or any tips to make a backup to an external server from my AMP server? Thanks!

You would have to write in a script that will pull the backup out and store it somewhere.

If you search around on this forum, I believe there are some scripts lying around.

Note: If you are on 8.2.4 or above you would need to involve TAC for configuring this as root access is disabled for customers from 8.2.4.

 

 

With 8.2.4, there is an option to send the backups externally (built in)

Oh yeah i missed that part. From 8.2.4 we have it inbuilt. You can choose option 4(backup), then choose option 2(configure Automatic transfer) and set the destination path.

 

Its worth noting the built in AMPCLI feature only utilizes SCP currently.
