How to poll AP stats using SNMP on PRTG

    Hey guys,

    how do I monitor all the AP that is connected to the WLC ? It is currently unable to detect any AP's so we have no visbility.

     

    I don't know which OID (Object identifier) will do this and how it can display as stats in PRTG.

    Internet is saying table below as the OID but when i do a show snmp trap-list, it does not display in the list. The firmware is version 6.4 on the aruba WLC.

    wlsxWlanAPTable1.3.6.1.4.1.14823.2.2.1.5.2.1.4

    my PRTG has set to auto discover the aruba WLC on udp port 161 and i have set to send SNMP traps and responses to the PRTG server on udp port 161 and 162

    thank you for your advice.

    By any chance you know what the OID is for wlsxWlanAPTable and wlsxWlanAPStatsTable ?

    Did a quick search on this MIB and nothing returned http://community.arubanetworks.com/aruba/attachments/aruba/IAP/1529/1/Aruba%20Instant%206.2.0.0-3.2%20MIB%20Reference%20Guide.pdf

     

    Basically i want to poll all the AP network utilization stats to our monitoring platform PRTG

    Is this for controller-based or instant access points?

    Has anyone managed to get Auba Monitoring of AP's working with PRTG. I have searched the internet and struggled to find any useful information.

    Has anyone make this working? We need to monitor online/offline APs in our Aruba 3200 with PRTG and SNMP? Is it possible? Tried to import the Aruba MIB file, but cant find any with online/offline access points.. :/

    Have you imported proper firmware version MIBs file to PRTG tool?

     

    I download the mib file and looked for  AP status related OIDs but I didnt find any. I would recommend to open TAC ticket to debug the issue further.

    Hello Pavan.

     

    Yes, i have downloaded the MIB file for the firmware im running (6.4.4.4), and nothing about online/offline APs/status. :/

    No good news.

     

    We doesnt have active support contract on the Aruba 3200 controller, so no solutions from Aruba.

     

    Have anyone found a solution to monitor through SNMP online/offline APs in the Controller ex. through PRTG?
