Installing Airwave on a HP DL380 Gen 9 Server.
Installing Airwave on a HP DL380 Gen 9 Server.
06-16-2015 12:20 PM
I'm unable to install Airwave 8.0.8.1 on a new HP DL380 Gen 9 Server.
Although the Server recognizes the DVD drive, it reports there is no bootable media.
I have verified that the DVD boots on a Gen8 Server, so it is not a bad disk.
I suspect something with CentOS/UEFI/and Secure boot.
Has anyone else tried this on a Gen9 server from HP?
Thanks.

You should be able to change the Bios boot option to not use UEFI. I had that issue installing ESXi on my Intel NUC. I had to disable the EFI boot option in order for the ESXi disk to boot and install.

I've had issues installing airwave in the past on a Dell Server. I ended up just installing ESX on the server then loading Airwave as a VM. In the long run it turned out to be a better solution because now Airwave is mobile (VMotion) and I can take snapshots before doing upgrades for easy rollbacks if something goes wrong.
My path might not be the solution you want but it works well. My environment is 95% VM so we're very comfortable with the solution.

Hi Neil,
Some of the Gen9 servers doesnt support Centos below 6.6. Could you please try with 8.0.9.1 ISO image and check whether it is getting detected?
8.0.9.1 comes with 6.6 version of Centos.
