Is there a way to restrict certain campuses from being viewed in VisualRF by role type in AirWave?

  • 1.  Is there a way to restrict certain campuses from being viewed in VisualRF by role type in AirWave?

    Have created roles that only have views for certain folders but the logins associated with those roles seem to be able to view everything in VisualRF and the only setting I've been able to find is to make their access read/write or read-only.  Would like to make it so that certain campuses won't be visible at all to certain roles.

    From the VisualRF user guide:

     

    "User Roles and VisualRF

    VisualRF uses the same user roles as defined for AMP. Users can see floor plans that contain an AP to which they have access in AMP, although only visible APs appear on the floor plan. VisualRF users can also see any building that contains a visible floor plan and any campus that contains a visible building. "

     

    If this is not happening, please open a TAC case.

    We opened TAC case #1556586 and was told this was not possible despite what the user guide says.  Can you please confirm?

    I read that as if a user can see any AP in a Campus, the campus will be visible.  Are you saying that the user has absolutely NO access to any APs on that campus?

    That is correct.  This particular user role is only able to see one folder with two subfolders that each contain 2 APs.  Those 4 APs are place on two separate floorplans in two separate buildings in the same campus.  The problem is that this user can see 4 other campuses with 33 other buildings and 267 other APs.

    Please show support the passage in the user guide and ask them if you have it configured properly.

    It appears this is a defect in 8.0, defect DE18937.

    Update from TAC: "Regarding the defect DE18937 the engineering team is working on it and this bug is expected to be fixed in the Airwave release 8.2"
