    Hello all,

I was curious if anyone has been able to get SNMPv3 working with Juniper devices. I've got it to poll it correctly, but I am sadly getting the following when it polls for stats.

Tue May 15 14:01:16 2018 System Error in SNMP polling: Timeout(interface_error_counter)
Tue May 15 13:51:16 2018 System Error in SNMP polling: Timeout(interface_bandwidth)
Tue May 15 13:49:15 2018 System Error in SNMP polling: Timeout(interface_monitor)
Tue May 15 13:30:16 2018 System Error in SNMP polling: Timeout(interface_error_counter)
Tue May 15 13:20:16 2018 System Error in SNMP polling: Timeout(interface_bandwidth)
Tue May 15 13:18:15 2018 System Error in SNMP polling: Timeout(interface_monitor)
Tue May 15 12:59:16 2018 System Error in SNMP polling: Timeout(interface_error_counter)
Tue May 15 12:49:16 2018 System Error in SNMP polling: Timeout(interface_bandwidth)
Tue May 15 12:47:15 2018 System Error in SNMP polling: Timeout(interface_monitor)
Tue May 15 12:45:57 2018 System Error in SNMP polling: Timeout(device_resources)
Tue May 15 12:40:24 2018 System Configuration verification succeeded; configuration is good

May i know how we have added the device on Airwave. Also, the firmware and model of the device.
What version of Airwave are we on?

When we add it in version 2 are we seeing these error?

    Hello Vishnu,

    We are running Airwave 8.2.6

Switch is added as Juniper Virtual

    Model: EX3300

    Version: 12.3R12-S6

SNMPV2 looks like its working fine.

Navigate to the Group that the switch is added in, click to the Group -> select group -> Basic tab.  Double check that the SNMP version selected for communication for that device type is set to SNMP v3.

2nd, test SNMP walk from the CLI.  This article I wrote on SNMP walk from the AMPCLI 'Enter Commands' menu should help:

I did verify the node is being polled with snmpv3. I also ran through the guide you posted. I can do an SNMP Walk and grab the sysname and some additional details, but am still getting the error. AMP shows the nodes to be up, but fails at grabbing specific details. I did also try rebooting just in case.

Will double check with the team.  The supported device documentation doesn't specify any expectation for interface data collection:

This is from the supported device guide for 8.2.6.1.

I do know that Interface stats were being polled under SNMPV2. I figure its a setting on the switch end, but cant find any documentation to show what may be required.

The team look at the Juniper support, looks like when support was added, it was only added for SNMPv2, not SNMPv3.  It's a feature request to get the SNMPv3 support built out.

Is there any sort of ETA on the feature?

No ETA, I've sent this to Product team for review, since from my visibility, this was the 1st time Juniper SNMPv3 support has been requested.
