    Hi,

I've just downloaded and installed the Airwave 7.6.3 VM on an ESXi server. I've got an eval license to install on the server ..... but failing at the 1st hurdle as I need to log into the CentOS VM at the command level so I can set up an IP address for the beast. So far I've only found the release notes for Airwave 7.6.3 which don't tell you anything about how you set up Airwave.

Would I have been better downloading the ISO instead of the ova?

    Rgds

    Alex

FWIW, the VM image should have default credentials.  This means CLI = root/admin, and GUI = admin/admin.

Once the VM is up and running, it takes about 5 minutes for the AMP services to start up in the background.  These services wait for a good http/https connection before starting (essentially, apache web server has to be running).

    Many thanks for that.

I've now logged onto the server and gone through the initial config stuff. Web server was up and running and then I updated its hostname default gateway and  ntp server info ...... then the http service vanished. Doesn't seem to have come back. I'll just reload the vm and sww what happens.

Yeah, sometimes changing the values from the CLI affect the web server's behavior.  It's best to make these changes in the UI from the AMP Setup -> Network tab.

What about root login after installing Airwave, it seems to disable this feature and I can only access an ugly menu interface via CLI. I can't even test if my pings work.

    Hi,

In 8.2.4, root shell access is blocked, please open TAC ticket, if you have any issues with Airwave.
