I seem to be experiencing odd problems with my client looking like its dropped of our wireless network at least from the Dashboard view of things, the client doesn't actually drop off the network.

See below dashboard screen capture of my client. I also see the same in Airwave VisualRF my client will drop off the plan for a period of time and then like the dashboard will come back at somepoint and then disappear again.

I've tried rebooting my client, reinstalling the drivers etc but still get the same issue.

So I now think its something to do with the controller.

What can I do to try and pin down what's causing the issue as its going to make troubleshooting the network extremely difficult if this is happening to more than just my laptop.

Laptop Dell, Windows 7, internal NIC disabled, using external Netgear AC1200 USB adapter.

Any help with this would be much appreciated.

    JonChill,

    How often does this happen?

Does it happen with any other clients?

Is someone using the client to see if it actually has no connectivity?

Does it happen with any other clients?  Something I haven't looked into at the moment.

Is someone using the client to see if it actually has no connectivity? Its my own laptop and when it shows as not being connected on the dashboard it doesn't drop the connection and the streaming radio I have on doesn't stutter or do anything out of the ordinary.

    Thanks

    Jon

I would start with a constant ping to the default gateway to see if your traffic is interrupted.  Streaming audio could be cached and might not drop out when connectivity drops out.

It could also be an artifact of the driver, but let's make sure that there are no connectivity issues first.

Its just dropped off the Dashboard again, the ping stayed continuous and didn't drop a packet.

Below is the output from the controller CLI for my client, still showing as connected for the last 47m.

I would upgrade to the latest 6.4.2.x and see if it continues.  It is inconclusive what is going on here.  Alternatively, you can open a case so that they can look into it further.

I upgraded yesterday to 6.4.2.10 and still see the issue so will be logging a call with our support.

    Thanks for your help.
