Hi all,

recently we upgraded our Aruba environment from OS 6.1.3.7 to 6.4.2.2. We also upgraded our Airwave platvorm from 8.0.0 to 8.0.5.

Now we added an additional controller to our environment (in a remote site), Airwave discovers it as a new device, all is well for now, so I added the controller to the right group/folder, but the controller doesn't come "online" in Airwave. However, the controller is perfectly reachable on the network. Additionally, not all AP's that point to this controller are discovered by Airwave, but I think this will solve itself once the controller is properly online in Airwave. In Airwave, I can see the following message: 

Configuration status changed to 'No matching template could be found for this device. See the templates page.'

If I try to find this templates page, it says I'm "not authorised", but the admin account - with which I'm logged in - is a root account.

In the firewalls I don't see anything that's blocked.

The controller I added, is a 650. We have some other 650's online (from before the upgrades), but those don't have any problems...

Does anyone know what the problem is or how we can solve this?

First:

You Upgraded your AOS,In your controller , did u add your AirWave under:

Configuration > MANGAMENT > General > AirWave Servers?

Please see attached JPG (dont forget to apply + Save config)

If still dosent work , then:

In your AW - did your configurare prefer AMON over SNMP ? < if so disable it ,and then try.

The Airwave server was already configured there, on the local controller.

The option:

Prefer AMON vs SNMP Polling:

was already disabled (No is checked)

Do you have any other ideas?

What u seeing in the AW unders logs of the device?

Did u rebooted your AW server after upgrading to the lasest version (to 8.0.5) if not - please do so.

I did reboot the Airwave server after the upgrade.

Should I do it again to test if the controller comes online then?

It should be up and should work as needed. (even with no  Reboot)

But give it a try.

I thought it should work too, but I couldn't find why it isn't working.

After a reboot of Airwave, there's no change: the local controller is still offline in Airwave.

This is a LOCAL controller that connected to a MASTER controller?

This is indeed a local controller that's connected to a master controller.

In Airwave we have 2 groups: local controllers and master controllers.

ok, the solution is found, apparently, the SNMP read string was configured as Public instead of public...
