I have recently installed airwave, and want to upgrade it. I see that I need to start a screen session before downloading the new os. However when I try to putty to my airwave server using SSH, it is asking for password (I am assuming root) I enter my admin credentials, but it fails. What am I missing? is there a specific command line I need to follow to access in the CLI?

You need to login with root as the username and use the password you setup during the install. It should be the same password for the admin user.

thanks for the reply, this is what I got.
login as: rootAccess deniedroot@192.168.235.200's password:Access deniedroot@192.168.235.200's password:Access deniedroot@192.168.235.200's password:Access deniedroot@192.168.235.200's password:Access deniedroot@192.168.235.200's password:
I just tried it on mine and it was the original admin password.
Username: root
Password: original admin password configured
Do you recall having any other passwords? If you can't logon you will have to do a password reset for root user.
The default root password is not working, other than my gui admin password I cannot think of any other passwords. So I am looking at a root password reset?
Did you try the admin password? I assume you did. :)
If you need to reset the root password, here is a thread with the steps:

Let me know if you are able to reset the password.
Yes, I tried same results. Thanks for the help, I probably will be back once I get into the CLI concerning the upgrade.
Thanks for the help.
Can you try it via the console instead of SSH?
