AP175s with tons of interference

We are running 6.1.2.2 with AP175s. There are 4 APs in our outdoor space and we se some significant packet loss. When I did a sh ap arm history ap-name the amount of time and change I saw for I and E were more than 1 per day. Is there anything we can check or set to see if there's any other things we're missing in our config?

Re: AP175s with tons of interference

There can be quite a few factors at play here.

Do you have antennas installed on the AP175?
What type?
How high is the AP mounted and how is it mounted?
If dual antennas are installed, are they covering overlapping areas (don't point antennas in opposite directions) ?

Are there other RF sources in the area? If so what? Do you have a spectrum analyzer that you can use to take a look at the area?

Re: AP175s with tons of interference

The antennas we are using:
Ant-2x2 5005 5ghz
Ant-2x2 2005 2.4ghz

Each set has a H & V

They are mounted about 15ft from the ground.

They are located in a dense urban environment, so yes, there will be some environmental factors.

I have a file that I can send if it helps, but it's too big for the list.

Re: AP175s with tons of interference

In a dense urban environment there will be interference, and the majority of it will be out of your control. You can do some things like maybe locate sources of interferece and remove them by using spectrum analysis equipment. Other interference must be accepted, but the Aruba access points will seek to avoid it to improve client experience. Three to four channel changes per day is not out of the question in these environments. You can always enable "client aware" in the ARM profile so that the access point does not change channel when clients are connected. You can also open a case so that TAC can get into the details of what the access point is seeing, so that you can possibly make adjustments. Alternatively, you can have a certified installer inspect your environment to see if there is a strategy that you can employ specific to your situation, outside of access point configuration.
