Anonymous@abc.com appearing on IAS after connecting via 802.1x SSID

Hi All,

Anyone here seen this anonymous@abc.com user appearing on IAS (numerous times) after user authenticates through 802.1x SSID on RAP-2?

It is strange.

It shows as denied access, aruba webui Local Events shows User Authentication failed for that particular MAC address.

Any chance someone was testing and forgot to change a client back? That seems like the kind of thing someone might put in as a test on a laptop if they were working in a lab, and possibly forgot to change back when they went on the live network. In my experience Windows just prompts me for credentials when I've done something like that. Are you sure this is one of your authorized machines and not someone's home device?

Michael - What wireless client are you using? Juniper Odyssey gives an option for an "anonymous" username with most EAP protocols so your real username does not show up. It's on by default in Odyssey and your users will all show up as whatever you have configured in that field.
